Welcome to Starring Your Kid ("we", "us", "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Starring Your Kid creates personalized, illustrated bedtime stories in which a child is the hero. Stories are generated from the character, companion, and world you choose.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and you use the Service as the parent or guardian of the child featured in the stories. You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity on your account.
3. Photos and likeness
When you upload a photo, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of the child in it and that you have the right to upload it. You keep all rights to your photos. We use an uploaded photo only to create your child's illustrated character and then delete the original — we do not store it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Your stories
The stories and illustrations you create are for your personal, non-commercial family use. You may read, print, and download them for your family. We retain ownership of the Service, its technology, templates, artwork styles, and pre-made assets.
5. Free previews and subscriptions
Free previews let you see part of a story at no charge. The Unlimited plan ($9.99/month) unlocks full stories, unlimited creations, and additional saved children. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Account → Manage subscription; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor.
6. Acceptable use
Don't upload photos of anyone you're not the parent or guardian of, don't misuse the Service, and don't attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is". Generated stories and images are created automatically and may vary in quality or contain imperfections. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Starring Your Kid is designed for parents and guardians.
1. What we collect
Account info: your email address and name.
Photos: a photo you choose to upload to create a character.
Content: the stories you create and the characters you save.
Usage: basic technical data needed to run and improve the Service.
2. How we handle photos
An uploaded photo is used only to generate your child's illustrated character. Once the character is created, the original photo is deleted — we do not keep it. Only the illustrated hero and your stories are stored in your account.
3. How we use your information
To create and store your stories, run your account, process your subscription, provide support, and keep the Service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We share data only with the providers needed to run the Service: an authentication and storage provider (to manage your login and store your stories), image- and text-generation providers (to create the illustrations and story text), and a payment processor (to handle subscriptions). They process data on our behalf under their own security terms.
5. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for parents and guardians, not for direct use by children. A parent provides the photo and details of their own child. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account anytime from Account → Delete my account, which permanently removes your stories, saved children, and login. Original uploaded photos are already deleted right after character creation.
7. Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your information from within the app, or by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use local storage on your device to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We don't use it for third-party advertising.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
